About Tim Benson

I am committed to working with charities and NGOs to tell the stories of people throughout the world who don’t have a voice.

Painted portraits speak to people in a way that the written word and photography cannot. My exhibitions engage people with important global challenges and build awareness through painting.

President, Royal Institute of Oil Painters; Member, Royal Society of Portrait Painters; Member, New English Art Club.

Portraits for NHS Heroes

Subject: Karl Ellis

Original Artwork: 16” x 12”, oil on canvas

Artist Statement:

“It was a real pleasure and honour to paint Karl Ellis for #portraitsfornhsheroes. Karl works for the NHS in Oxford. I felt that it was extremely important to recognise the crucial and often dangerous work that NHS workers are undertaking on our behalf. Painting Karl’s portrait was my way of saying thank you.”
