About Alex Wilby

Alex Wilby is a self taught London based Artist/Illustrator. After giving up art and pursuing music as a potential career, Alex didn’t draw or paint for almost 10 years, but at the age of 29 the art bug could not be avoided any longer, and he picked up a pencil again.

“I mainly paint portraits and people, but likeness and realism is not my goal. They are abstract paintings to me. I search for a balance of shape, colour and design over all else. I like to push and exaggerate the reference to suit my taste, and to create something new, and hopefully interesting”
